Restaurant DREI
DREI has found a new home – and it fits in perfectly here. Since summer 2025, the restaurant has been located in the historic ConventGarten, right on the Kiel Canal. Same concept, better views, more space. 120 seats inside, 60 on the terrace, and the ships outside.
Whether it’s dinner for two, a table for the whole family or a special occasion that deserves the right setting – DREI is open.

Our philosophy
From the very beginning, DREI has taken a clear stance: good food doesn’t need to be staged, but it does require a certain ethos.
Head chef David Holst and his team cook with regional produce, complemented by Nordic-Scandinavian influences – a combination that, in Rendsburg, is geographically no further away than a glance at the map. Fish from Schleswig-Holstein, meat from farms where you know exactly where it comes from, and seasonal vegetables. No excuses, no shortcuts.
What sets DREI apart isn’t any single course – it’s the feeling at the end of the evening. That you’ve eaten well, sat in a space that has a story to tell, and been served by a team that doesn’t see their job as just a job.
The menu changes with the seasons; the specials menu changes even more frequently. Regulars won’t always find the same thing – which is entirely by design. Standing still is not an option at DREI. The historic building surrounding it has been through enough already.
