Hotel ConventGarten has been part of the story of the Kiel Canal ever since the canal first opened back in 1895. In fact, the hotel predates the canal by some 20 years, since the first restaurant and ball room were established here in 1874.
From the very beginning, Hotel ConventGarten has been known for its parties and warm welcome. Be it weddings, birthdays, conferences or anniversary celebrations, for the last 140 years Hotel ConventGarten has been the number one destination for celebrations of all kinds and the perfect starting point for holidays by the Kiel Canal.

Spring is the season of new beginnings. That’s why in March 2020 we expanded our portfolio of function rooms to now offer nine event spaces in addition to our 72 double rooms and eight suites.
